Five Gates to Freedom

A one day event that is intended to resource those in the 2nd half of life.  As followers of Jesus Christ we live in the tension of being promised freedom.  However, freedom besides being a reality is also an objective to be experienced.  Similar to the statement, “We are saved and continually being saved.  We are to walk in freedom while we are being “set free” so that freedom will be our testimony.

The same culture that has been telling us that our contribution diminishes with age, so to the church has reinforced that mentality by encouraging us to be consumers rather that of being pioneers of our own faith journey.  The disciples had 3+ years of training with Jesus and then on the day of Pentecost had the task of leading 3,000 into the knowledge of the kingdom.  They had just had a 40 day session with Jesus after returning from death.  We have seniors that have been taught for 20,30, 40 years that continue to come to church to hear a sermon, maybe attend a class and believe they have met their obligation.  Hebrews 5:12 tells of a people that remain on milk rather than solid food.  5 Gates to Freedom is intended to present the life journey we are on and how the latter seasons of life should be productive and fruit bearing.
